More power, less downtime for Powerscreen Warrior 1800

The Powerscreen Warrior 1800 with its CAT engine and an output of 111 hp is a screening machine that is indispensable in the construction industry!
Thanks to the comprehensive ECU update and the removal of DEF/AdBlue, DPF and EGR, the machine’s performance has improved considerably. But what exactly has been done and why is this solution so effective?

ECU Caterpillar ADEM IV

At the heart of every modern construction machine is the ECU (Electronic Control Unit). In this case, it is the Caterpillar ADEM IV control unit, which optimally controls the engine settings. However, many machines today are equipped with emission control systems which, while beneficial to the environment, can limit the machine’s performance and lead to frequent maintenance. Targeted chiptuning of the ECU can significantly reduce these restrictions.

DEF/AdBlue

DEF (Diesel Exhaust Fluid), also known as AdBlue, is used to reduce harmful nitrogen oxides (NOx) in the exhaust gas. However, these systems require regular refills and often cause high repair costs due to defective sensors. Optimized engine tuning by removing AdBlue systems reduces error messages and prevents costly downtime.

DPF – diesel particulate filter

The diesel particulate filter (DPF) traps soot particles that are produced during combustion. However, the automatic regeneration of the filter often leads to blockages, forcing the machine into emergency operation and requiring additional visits to the workshop. With a targeted DPF Delete as part of construction machinery chiptuning, the filter is removed or deactivated, allowing the machine to breathe more freely and deliver more power.

EGR – Exhaust gas recirculation

The EGR system (exhaust gas recirculation) lowers the combustion temperature and reduces NOx emissions, but over time it can foul the intake ducts and impair engine performance. The targeted EGR delete in the tuning process eliminates these problems, resulting in a noticeable increase in performance.

Full Delete

To avoid these frequent problems and make the screening system more efficient, a full delete was carried out on the Powerscreen Warrior 1800. This means that DEF/AdBlue, DPF and EGR were completely removed or deactivated. Here is an overview of the advantages:

More power with chip tuning: The engine can now develop its full potential without the restrictions imposed by the emission control systems. This leads to a significant increase in performance.

No more error messages: Frequent sensor errors and error messages caused by DEF, DPF or EGR are a thing of the past.

Fewer workshop visits: As the systems that could potentially fail are no longer present, fewer repairs are necessary.

Longer operating times thanks to optimized tuning: The machine can now stay in use longer and more efficiently, without interruptions due to maintenance or error messages.

CONCLUSION

After the full delete on his Powerscreen Warrior 1800, the customer reports significantly fewer breakdowns and a noticeable increase in performance. With fewer visits to the workshop, the machine can now work more efficiently and is available for longer operations.

This solution shows how useful a customized ECU update can be to maximize the performance and reliability of machines in tough everyday construction site conditions.
